Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 June 2026
Your privacy and the security of your documents are central to Uni-Lead ("يوني ليد"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the rights you have over it. We handle your data in line with applicable data-protection laws in the GCC, MENA, and North-Africa region.
1. Our commitment
We collect only the data we need to help you discover programs and complete your applications, we keep it within a protected region, and we never sell your personal data.
2. Who is responsible for your data
Uni-Lead is the controller of the personal data you provide through the Platform. For any privacy request you can reach our data-protection team at privacy@uni-lead.com.
3. Information we collect
Account and profile data: your name, contact details, country of residence, nationality, date of birth, and study intentions.
Documents and identity data: the files you upload to your document vault, including passports and transcripts, and the details extracted from them.
Usage data: how you interact with the Platform, device and log information, and messages exchanged with your counselor.
4. How and why we use your information
We use your data to operate your account, match you with suitable universities and programs, prepare and submit applications on your instruction, communicate with you and your counselor, and keep the Platform secure.
We rely on your consent for sensitive processing and for sharing your documents with universities, and on our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Platform.
5. Consent and your choices
No screen or feature that processes your personal data will operate until you have given the required consent. You can review, grant, or withdraw your consents at any time in your settings. Withdrawing a consent may limit features that depend on it but does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.
6. Your document vault and sensitive data
Documents in your vault are encrypted at rest, and especially sensitive fields, such as your passport number, are individually encrypted. Every file is automatically scanned for viruses before it can be reviewed.
Documents are served only through an authenticated, audited channel — never through a public link — and each access is logged.
7. Sharing with universities and partners
We share your documents and application data with a university only after you have given a specific cross-border transfer consent for that institution. We also use trusted service providers (for hosting, security scanning, messaging, and notifications) who act on our instructions under confidentiality obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
8. International transfers and data residency
Your data and documents are stored in the me-central-1 region to support regional data-residency expectations. Where transferring your data to a university requires it to cross a border, we ask for your explicit consent first and rely on appropriate safeguards.
9. How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
10. How we protect your data
We use encryption, access controls, audit logging, virus scanning, and least-privilege staff access to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information and to respond promptly to any incident.
11. Your privacy rights
You can access and update your profile, request a copy of your data (data export), and request erasure of your account and data, directly from your settings or by contacting us. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
12. Minors
The Platform is intended for applicants aged 18 and over, or younger applicants acting with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children without such consent.
13. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and the Platform working, and limited analytics to understand and improve the service. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser or device settings.
14. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy from time to time and will notify you of material changes through the Platform. For any privacy question, request, or complaint, contact privacy@uni-lead.com.
